Web Developers Meetup #16 — WebGL

Free
The CoLab
237 Taylor St, Unit 2, Port Townsend, WA 98368

Did you know that all popular modern web browsers are capable of natively rendering interactive 3D experiences? True story.

They do so through a JavaScript API called WebGL which is closely modeled after OpenGL. The code can be run in elements on a page and allows for access to GPU acceleration for rendering.

Local C++ developer and head programmer at Golden Software, Inc. Tim Finer will teach us more about the technology. Tim as been coding professionally since the 90's and has worked in a variety of fields including scientific visualization, mapping, metrology, geocoding, DRM, linux, python, games, and teaching.

Our sponsors Cro Software Solutions and the Colab will be providing pizza and a meeting space once again. And we'll have some beverages from Fort George Brewery on hand.

Also, feel free to prep your battlesnake for another royal rumble at the end of the session. No fanfare, no prizes, just the glory of competition.

Once again we will be at The CoLab and we will be doing announcements and show-and-tell before the presentation starts. If you have any questions, feel free to post in the comments.
