Join SOCO + The OC Mix for its Dream Big Family Art Day event on Saturday, June 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This inspiring day will be full of art and creative family activities hosted by The Chuck Jones Center for Creativity, Cilek Kids Room and the SOCO Farmers’ Market. The event is free and is a great way to get an early start to Father’s Day celebrations.
The day will kick-off at Chuck Jones Center for Creativity with the center’s Saturday Morning Cartoons & Drawing from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Children will learn how to draw and color Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner while watching the antics of these beloved characters in classic cartoons.
Guests will then make their way to Cilek Kids Room where they will join Christa Mae for Storytime from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.! This parent-child experience is perfect for toddlers 15 months to four years old and features a read-aloud story about dreaming and a live sing-along performance, followed by an art project related to the story. Goodie bags will be provided for all!
Next, attendees will head over to the SOCO Farmers' Market to enjoy a wonderful selection of refreshments offered by the market’s food & drink vendors from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The last stop of the day takes guests back to The Chuck Jones Center for Creativity from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., where the center’s nurturing teaching artists will lead kids and parents in creating paintings that express their wildest dreams.
