Treat yourself to two relaxing days of learning slow stitching in a kind, supportive environment making something beautiful and useful. In a world where we are constantly bombarded with technology and screens, let’s take a breath and slow down. You will be learning slow stitching while enjoying the process of needle and thread in a community of like-minded, creative individuals. We will be learning basic hand stitches and construction techniques with my indigo dyed fabrics, which are mostly vintage and repurposed pieces. Through the process, we end up making beautiful cloth pieces.

We will begin with creating a small stitched cloth, such as a mug mat or bookmark, to learn the basic stitches. Then, we will expand into a second piece, learning additional stitches to piece and embellish. This larger cloth can be used as a wall hanging, a side table quilt or made into a pillow.

At the end of class, you will have learned how to make beautifully stitched pieces to take home and enjoy. You will be able to use the techniques to continue to develop your practice.
