Please join us for our annual Wassail winter orchard celebration on Saturday, January 18th
It’s a jolly event to bring some cheer and light to the deep winter and to prepare the Orchard for a new year of fruitfulness! The wassail celebration is an ancient tradition of blessing the trees and wishing good health to the orchard and community. Bring something to make noise- a musical instrument or pot and spoon. Fanciful and festive dress welcome!

Wassailing predates the Battle of Hastings and is thought to have its origins in Ancient Rome, where people would honor Pomona, the Roman Goddess of Fruits. The word Wassail originates from the Anglo-Saxon waes-hael, meaning “to your health”

Schedule:

4pm: Bonfire and House-Made Wassail Punch
5pm: Live Music & dancing with Reach for the Sky
6pm: (during band break): Reenactment of Historic Wassail toast

8pm- 8:30pm Fire Dancing & singing
8:30: Lantern and noise procession into Orchard- Bring your bells, horns and ruckus-makers!

While supplies last: Dented Buoy will be selling Apple Dented Buoy Gooey Buns!
