Adobe Lightroom Classic provides a powerful organizational tool set for organizing your photo library and keeping it organized. Lightroom can be used with whatever organizational structure meets your needs or personality: some prefer a structure based on dates and time (“2020: July: 23-24” or “2020-07-23; 2020-07-24”) while others use a topic based structure (“Nature: Birds: Ducks”; “Trips: California: Death Valley”; etc.). Or a mix is possible: “Trip: California: Death Valley: 2013”. Any organizational structure you can imagine, Lightroom can work with it and make it easier to maintain.

The sessions in this 3-week online workshop will cover the various approaches to organization and advantages and disadvantages with each. Also covered are how to use import presets to make it easier to maintain your organizational structure. We will cover how to consolidate separate folders of images that may be scattered across different external drives.

Additionally, there are times when you need to separate or consolidate Lightroom libraries. For instance, if you have used a new catalog for a road trip or you may want to export culled images to an archive library.

The class includes one hour of one-on-one (Zoom based) assistance with your library and organizational structure.

There are no formal prerequisites for this class, but a basic familiarity with Lightroom’s tools is highly recommended.
