The holiday festivities kickoff when Cowboy Santa makes his grand arrival to the Stockyards on Friday, November 26th! Guests can welcome him in his stagecoach following the 11:30 a.m. Cattle Drive. Activities to follow his entrance include photos by appointment, Cowboy poetry, storytime with Mrs. Claus, strolling holiday entertainment and more.
The day concludes with the kickoff of the Stockyards' holiday light spectacular with a festive tree lighting outside the Exchange Building and at Hotel Drover at 6:00 p.m. Guests can see the Stockyards, Mule Alley, and Hotel Drover adorned with Christmas lights as they welcome Santa and the district-wide celebrations commence.
Guests can journey through a district-wide Western wonderland complete with dreamy lighting and decor. Stroll down East Exchange Avenue and Mule Alley, where every tree will be lit, light poles will be wrapped in garland and ribbon, and garland and lights can be found decorating Cowtown Coliseum, the Exchange Building, Stockyards Station, and even the Cowtown Cattlepen Maze. Enjoy quintessential Texas-themed lights with two boot sculptures up the steps of the Exchange Building, a horseshoe outside of American Paint Horse Association, and a 6-foot large wreath outside Shake Shack on Mule Alley.
