Rowena Crest Viewpoint
Historic Columbia River Highway 6500, Rowena, OR 97058, United States

Located in the transition zone between the moist, heavily-forested west side of the Cascades and the drier bunch grass prairies of the east, Tom McCall Preserve is home to one of Oregon's most impressive displays of spring wildflowers. The Tom McCall Preserve is also an incredible example of partnership between The Nature Conservancy, Oregon State Parks (part of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department), and the US Forest Service.
Oregon State Parks is celebrating "100 Volunteer Projects for 100 Years!" The Nature Conservancy in Oregon will be participating in the legacy of service that has sustained the state parks system for a century by going out with volunteers to Mayer State Park and Tom McCall Preserve on Saturday, October 8. Volunteers will be carrying gravel, cleaning water bars, strengthening drain drips, and engaging in trail drainage work.
