Dented Buoy Pizza is an independent, locally-owned woodfired bakery operated by John Shelley and his crew on weekends at Finnriver. Their oven was constructed out of a large marine buoy (with a dent!) that went from floating in the ocean during its seafaring days to firing up your pizzas on this farm. They burn locally harvested alder wood to bake at 600+ degree temperatures and their thin crust pizzas bake directly upon the firebrick hearth in just 3-5 minutes. They use high-quality organic flours and source local, fresh, organic vegetables as toppings. Making pizza with love and attention is a hands-on process and can take a bit of time if lots of folks are hungry all at once.
