Get into the holiday spirit while learning the art of woodcut printmaking! In this fun and creative class, you’ll design and hand-print your own festive cards using non-toxic Cranfield relief inks. This is a chance to explore inking and printing techniques with pre-carved woodblocks, or carve your own design to create a one-of-a-kind image. Popular Seattle teaching artist Charles Spitzack will guide you in the whole process, which includes using brayers, aka rollers, to apply ink to your hand-carved blocks. Together, we'll experience the traditional process of relief printing from start to finish.

Beginners and experienced participants alike are welcome in this weekend workshop, which encourages both experimentation and craftsmanship. Whether you want to explore color and texture, focus on detailed design or both, you’ll leave with beautiful handmade cards to share with your friends and family. All printmaking supplies are included, and the class fee covers your first 10 printed cards. Additional cards can be made for a small additional fee to cover the materials.
