SUMMARY:Orthodox Christian Paschal Season (English Language Services)
DESCRIPTION:In the Orthodox Church\, the Paschal season (the 40 days f
 ollowing Pascha\, the Orthodox name for Easter) is the most joyous and
  significant season as the Church celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus
  Christ.  It lasts forty days (April 12 to May 21 this year)\, from t
 he time of the Resurrection to the Ascension.  Each of the Paschal Su
 ndays has its own special theme\, which is reflected in the New Testam
 ent readings (The Acts of the Apostles and the Gospel of Saint John th
 e Theologian) and hymns of that day\, as well as the sermon.  Holy Tr
 inity Orthodox Church of East Meadow (located at 369 Green Avenue) inv
 ites you to worship with us during this holy season. All services are 
 conducted in English.\n \nHoly Trinity founded in 1924\, is the first
  Orthodox Christian parish in the Nassau/Suffolk area and centrally lo
 cated in mid-island East Meadow.  The parish is a diverse community o
 f Orthodox Christians who come from all walks of life and ethnicities\
 , gathering in the oneness of Faith to worship God in the fullness of 
 the Church’s liturgical life.  It also has a strong commitment to s
 erving others through various charities.  We welcome all people seeki
 ng a community rooted in the oldest Christian Church with an emphasis 
 on Holy Scripture\, Holy Tradition\, liturgical and prayer life\, and 
 traditional Christian values.\n \nThe Divine Liturgy (Eucharist) is c
 elebrated every Sunday and feast day at 9:30 AM (Hours at 9:00 AM).  
 Please be aware that only Orthodox Christians are allowed to partake o
 f the Eucharist and other sacraments because of the ancient canons\, b
 ut others are welcome to receive a blessing.  Coffee hour follows the
  Divine Liturgy every Sunday. Vespers (evening prayer) are served ever
 y Saturday and on the eve of feast days at 6:00 PM.  Services are als
