DESCRIPTION:The Creative District is partnering with the Port Townsend
  Film Festival and Key City Public Theatre for a free screening of the
  film Lords of Dogtown.\nDirected by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen\, T
 wilight) and starring Heath Ledger\, Emile Hirsh\, and Victor Rasuk\, 
 this 2005 biographical drama follows the lives of the the Z-Boys\, a l
 egendary group of teenage surfers from Venice Beach\, California. Set 
 in the 1970s\, it portrays how this ragtag crew revolutionized skatebo
 arding by applying aggressive\, wave-riding styles to empty backyard s
 wimming pools\, transforming a hobby into a global sport. Written by S
 tacy Peralta (one of the original Z-Boys) and featuring cameos by nume
 rous well-known skaters\, the film is rooted in a true story that chan
 ged skateboarding forever.\nNote that this movie is rated PG-13 for te
 en smoking\, drinking\, drug use\, foul language\, sexual activity\, a
 nd violence\, and is recommended for audiences 15+ by Common Sense Med
 ia.\nThis special event is happening to celebrate the Seamus Sims Skat
 e Park Mural Project and spread the word about the Public Artist Prese
