  & On the Air\nTrinity United Methodist’s Candlelight Concerts hosts
  Tom Melancon\, a singer and songwriter from Seattle\, who will be per
 forming at Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday\, July 23\,
  2026\,at 7:00 PM for one full set with no intermission.  \nThe pe
 rformance will also be streamed live at https://trinityumcpt.org/co
 ncerts/ where you will find a link for the Candlelight Concerts Onlin
 e and ways to donate.  The concert will also be simulcast on KPTZ FM 
 91.9. \nAdmission to the concert is free (really!)\, with a suggest
 ed donation $15 per person. You are most welcome to attend whether you
  choose to donate or not. Half of the donations from Melancon’s con
 cert will be given to Jefferson County Immigrant Rights Advocates (JCI
 RA) whose mission is to support the rights of immigrants and their fam
 ilies who live or work on the Olympic Peninsula and to immigrant detai
 nees in Washington state.\nTom Melancon honed his songwriting\, record
 ing and performing chops in Northern Nevada\, where he was a founding 
 member of "The Pods" a stellar cowpunk band and "Ghost Ranch" an Ameri
 cana band known for its harmonies and live performances. Tom has been 
 writing\, recording and performing Americana and Rock music in Seattle
  since the early 2000's.\nIn 2019\, Tom formed "American Flats" and th
 e band made a name for its dynamic live shows\, infusing elements of p
 unk and pop into Tom's Americana originals. The band released its firs
 t EP "Nevada" in February of 2024 and the original lineup disbanded. T
 he band reformed in the summer of 2024 to play shows at the Showbox an
 d the Bite of Seattle.\nIn April of 2025\, Tom was offered a scholarsh
 ip to attend an artist residency at Chateau Orquevaux in France. Ameri
 can Flats has been rehearsing and recording the songs Tom wrote there 
 ever since. Tom continues to perform as a solo artist and American Fla
 ts is gearing up for its best gig ever when they perform at this year'
 s Bumbershoot Festival in September. Look for a new album from later t
 his year!\nTrinity United Methodist Church is located at 609 Taylor St
 reet\, across from the Community Center\, in Uptown.  Attendees shou
 ld plan on arriving early – doors will open at 6:30. \n
