  and inspiring jumping-off points for thisseries. Slow development whi
 le interpreting each landscape is what makes each paintingcompelling. 
 Where a photograph can crisply preserve a fleeting moment\, these pain
 tings alludeto invisible cycles of entropy because of the way they are
  made. Layers of granulated pigmentare built up and held in suspension
  by water sourced directly from snow. As each layer settles\, itbrings
  unique combinations of color and texture that reveal a hidden dimensi
 on of time to thework. In this way\, each painting is a time-travel de
 vice that transports the viewer into a realmbetween vision and imagina
 tion.The presence of music is imbued in these new works. Bruce Chatwin
 ’s book “The Songlines”reveals how Aboriginal people navigate th
 rough landscapes: by singing them. Featuresimportant to wayfinding are
  part of the song. We are learning more about how closely linkedmusic 
 is to memory\, a direct line through time to different places. Listeni
 ng\, and the very newtechnology of recording\, music supports and info
 rms our efforts to find our way in the world.A set of songs composed b
 y Caleb during his expedition will be performed by local all-star band
 Central Jersey Safari at the opening reception. A limited edition viny
 l recording\, featuringGraves’ watercolor “Clouds” as the album 
 cover art\, will be available for purchase. There is nocover fee for t
 he performance\, and donations will be accepted for the musicians.DATA

 omposer\,producer\, and visual artist working across ambient\, drone\,
  and electroacoustic music for film\,television\, and screen. Built fr

 k is sample-free\, stems-available\, and tailored for sync placement i
 n thriller\, true crime\,horror atmosphere\, sci-fi\, and documentary 
 underscore.His catalog spans the long-running Drones series alongsid
