 es for all ages.Hundreds of living historians from across the U.S. wil
 l portray soldiers\, civilians\, and leaders\, offering visitors a viv
 id glimpse into the past. Highlights include two daily battles with re
 al cannons and horses (Saturday at 1:30 PM and 4 PM\; Sunday at 11 AM 
 and 2 PM)\, weapons demonstrations\, and programs on topics such as th
 e US Navy in the Civil War\, African American service\, Native America
 n perspectives\, and Civil War logistics. Visitors will be able to lis
 ten to President Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address\, hear from the famous
  abolitionist Frederick Douglass\, and meet General Grant as he draws 
 up his battle plans.The event also features music\, food\, and histori
 c vendors. The event is located in HB Central Park East\, behind the l
 ibrary\, on Gothard between Slater and Talbert. Parking is available a
 t the HB Central Library or paid parking at the HB Sports Center.Civil
  War Days honors Huntington Beach’s long-standing tradition of histo
 rical education and community education. More than a century ago Hunti
 ngton Beach used to regularly host meetings of the Grand Army of the R
 epublic\, the fraternal organization of Union Civil War veterans.Don
