September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and Sgt. Pepperoni’s Pizza Store is continuing its efforts to bring joy to children and families affected by cancer. Since 2013, the family-owned and operated pizza store has partnered with Julian’s LEGO® Corner to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer. Since 2013, they have raised $100,000 for this wonder cause – and this year they have set a goal to reach $50,000 with the help of their loyal customers.
Julian’s LEGO® Corner is a fund at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) created in memory of Julian Dunn, a Newport Beach 9-year old who lost his battle with childhood cancer. The fund, inspired by Julian’s love for LEGO® creations, has raised money in partnership with Sgt. Pepperoni’s and other generous donors to bring a creative outlet to children and teens at CHOC Hospital with serious and complex medical journeys.
The families of Sgt. Pepperoni’s Pizza Store are calling on their community to show their support this month for childhood cancer by dropping off a LEGO® set or making a cash donation at any of their three locations in Irvine, Newport Beach or Aliso Viejo. Additionally, 100 percent of the proceeds from desserts and September’s Pizza of the Month, Da Rulk Pie (a cauliflower crust pizza with sausage, ricotta cheese and marinara – or build – your – own, inspired by fitness guru Da Rulk) will be donated to Julian’s LEGO® Corner.
