Songwriter, producer, and recording engineer Alicia Healey delivers alt-country ballads and rock-flavored songs in which the sometimes sweet, sometimes gritty stories of her characters come to life. Some are heartbreaking, one or two are cautiously hopeful, all strive to tap into our trials and celebrations: the everyday of the everybody. Powerful vocals and driving acoustic guitar offer sit-at-the-top-of-your-window-seat listening.
For the past twenty years, Wes Weddell has worked multiple shifts in the engine room of Seattle’s roots music scene as frontman, sideman, writer, teacher, and community-builder. “Always heartfelt and well-constructed” (Seattle Weekly), listeners have come to expect Weddell’s regionally rooted songs to “speak for themselves” (No Depression). Since 2010, he has written more than 60 songs inspired by books for The Bushwick Book Club Seattle, an expanding collective of songwriters creating new art sparked by literature.
30 minutes before music starts, a $5/person cover charge (excluding children under 12) will be collected. All funds go to the artists.
