Hot Club Sandwich comes to PT! A regional favorite, Hot Club Sandwich has enjoyed performing for dancers at the Elks over the past few years, usually with a unique format or some sort of surprise guest. This year’s ensemble will feature founding members Tim Wetmiller on violin and Kevin Connor on guitar and vocals, along with local Matt Sircely on mandolin, tenor guitar and vocals including the powerhouse rhythm section of locals Nancy Katz on bass and Terry Smith on drums.
In more than 15 years of producing concert sets and recordings, Hot Club Sandwich also has always loved playing swing dances, with specific consideration for the dance needs of each unique crowd.
The Hot Club Sandwich repertoire carries a reverence for Gypsy Jazz along with folkloric influences from around the world that flourished during the “Hot Jazz” era. In some cases, the band has been known to venture into Western twang territory, including collaboration with the late legend Dan Hicks. http://www.hotclubsandwich.com/site/page/home
