The Jewish Community Foundation Orange County (JCFOC) will host a Sukkot Harvest Festival, Sunday, Oct. 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The DWELL Festival: Harvest, Welcome, Gather – A Sukkot Experience is organized through the Foundation’s Weissman Arts program in partnership with The Ecology Center. DWELL will celebrate the Jewish tradition of gathering community outdoors to celebrate the end of an abundant summer harvest and welcome in the fall season and all it brings.

The community is invited to immerse itself in the intersection of ancient harvest practices, sustainable farming, and artistic expression. Learn from guest chefs, farmers, and educators. Enjoy farm tours, cooking demos, food from the regenerative organic farm, interactive workshops, including pickling and kombucha workshops, and sessions on floral arranging, nature arts, yoga, family activities, and more.

Celebrated for over 3,000 years, Sukkot is the eight-day-long Jewish fall harvest festival. A sukkah is a temporary outdoor structure connected to the holiday of Sukkot. The holiday reflects themes of hospitality and the welcoming of strangers. The rain or shine festival is an inclusive event open to people of all ages, backgrounds, and faiths.

Join us at the farm and explore the architecturally designed sukkah (temporary shelters) by several SoCal-based architecture and design teams. Visit the farm stand with locally grown, organic produce. Enjoy a day filled with festive farm-to-fork artisanal food and activities for people of all ages. Tickets are $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children ages 4 and up; kids 3-years and under are free. To register, visit www.theecologycenter.org/event/dwell-festival-a-sukkot-experience.

JCFOC established the Albert Weissman & Rhoda Yvette Weissman Endowment Fund, also known as the Weissman Arts program, through a generous legacy gift from the couple. In honoring their wishes, the Weissman Arts legacy program provides for arts and arts-related programming in Jewish Orange County.
