In this workshop, learn how to transform flat surfaces into atmospheric, immersive environments. Paul will begin by leading participants through experimental exercises that transform and elevate textures through the watercolor principles of density and direction. Textures are found everywhere, especially in nature. We encounter them mainly through sight and touch, and they provide critical information about our world.
With nature as inspiration, explore how to create a set of emotive textures with watercolor and a few simple tools. For the remainder of the workshop, Paul will lead participants step-by-step through designing a nature-inspired piece and infusing it with playful textures.
