The Friends of the Port Townsend Library is holding the first book and media sale of 2026 on April 18 from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Uptown Community Center on the corner of Tyler and Lawrence Streets. All book sale proceeds support adult and children’s programs, materials, and other projects at the Port Townsend Public Library.

As always, the April sale features an abundance of Grade A hardback and paperback fiction. Browsers will find plenty of nonfiction too—cookbooks, gardening books, do-it-yourself books—and a range of children and young adult selections. CDs and DVDs are also plentiful. Most adults’ books cost $2; children’s books, $1. We are now accepting cash, check and credit and debit cards.

You will also have several opportunities to support us by buying books. The Friends’ Bookshop remains open in the Library Learning Center (Charles Pink House) across the lawn from the library from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. every Monday and Thursday (except holidays when the library is closed). We will also hold lots of pop-up sales on the lawn adjacent to Saturday farmers markets this year, and we hope you’ll drop by!

The Friends’ next big book sale will take place in October, 2026.
