Shelby Natasha is a Chinese Folk-R&B project from Seattle, USA. Inspired by her upbringing growing up between China and the US, her music draws greatly from the folk music of both cultures, reimagined in a modern production context. With ethereal vocals, Guzheng (the Chinese harp), bass, lofi samples, and a live drummer, she creates a vibe that is both haunting and groovy. She has played in festivals such as Oregon Country Fair, NAMM, Any Patch of Grass, Imagine Festival, Portland Folk Festival, Shady Pines Festival, Northwest, Folklife, Timber Festival and has played support slots for the artists East Forest, Simrit, Yaima, and Chinese American Bear.
In the Spring of 2027, her ensemble will be going to China to record a grant-funded full length record, in collaboration with local Chinese musicians.
