Description: Did you know that in nearly every month of 2023 Transient (Bigg’s) Orcas were spotted passing by Marrowstone Island and Port Townsend? Come learn about who (yes, who!) some of these orcas are as Rebecca Berger takes up on a deep dive into one particular Bigg’s Orca family that raised some eyebrows last September when they came into Kilisut Harbor!

Presenter: Rebecca Berger recently completed the Whale Museum's Marine Naturalist training program as well as the Bigg's Orca STaRs program offered by the Orca Behavior Institute and The Salish Sea School. She has spent the past year immersing herself in learning about the Salish Sea and the marine life within it with a special focus on Bigg's Orcas. Rebeccas is a resident of Jefferson County and originally from British Columbia.
