"Sifting the Silence" is a new show celebrating the art of Shirley Scheier of Port Townsend. Lately Shirley has been using shape-shifting nets to cast color across her canvases. The evocative results are on view, alongside a number of intaglio prints and etchings from the award-winning artist and University of Washington art professor emerita. Titles of these works range from "Below the Equator" and "Untethered Breeze" to "Open Book" and "Listen." "Sifting" will have its opening party during the Saturday, July 6 Art Walk from 5-8 PM.
