PTFF is proud to collaborate with The Production Alliance and Port Townsend Pride to present “Films with Pride”, the addition of queer film to Port Townsend’s beloved LGBTQIA2S+ community event. Sponsored by Key City Public Theatre and Kristin Manwaring Insurance, the films will expand the Pride programming into a three-day event.
Friday, June 6th, 7 PM: But I’m a Cheerleader (2000)
Megan is an all-American girl. A cheerleader. She has a boyfriend. But Megan doesn't like kissing her boyfriend very much. And she's pretty touchy with her cheerleader friends. Her conservative parents worry that she must be a lesbian and send her off to "sexual redirection" boot camp, where she must, with other lesbians and gays learn how to be straight, or NOT! This farcical and raunchy send-up of the straight world’s efforts to stop the gay agenda has become a queer community cult classic.
