Get ready to spice up your weekend! The Mission Viejo Rotary Club invites you to join them for the 3rd Annual Chili-Cookoff on Saturday, May 24, 2025, from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Norman P. Murray Community Center. This family-friendly event promises a lively afternoon filled with delicious food, local vendors, live music, and fun activities for all ages — all while raising funds to support Mission Viejo high school scholarships and local charities.
Guests will have the chance to taste a wide variety of chili creations, crafted by both professional and amateur chefs from the community. If you think your chili has what it takes to win, you can enter the cookoff for just $50 and compete for cash prizes — including $500 for first place, $250 for second, and $100 for third. General admission is just $10, and every ticket purchase helps make a difference for local youth and families.
Leading this year’s event is LaVal Brewer, President & CEO of South County Outreach and incoming President of the Mission Viejo Rotary Club. Brewer is passionate about bringing the community together to uplift others, with plans to expand Rotary’s impact through increased scholarship support and deeper connections to local Title One schools. Under his leadership, the Chili-Cookoff is about more than just good food — it’s about creating real opportunities for young people to thrive and building a stronger, more connected Mission Viejo.
Guests will also enjoy a festive atmosphere featuring a bustling vendor marketplace, family activities, and live music that will keep the energy high throughout the afternoon. Every bite and every moment of fun supports Rotary’s broader mission: creating lasting, meaningful change right here in our community.
Don't miss out on this flavorful celebration of community spirit, generosity, and a little friendly competition. Bring your appetite, bring your family, and be part of something special!
