An influx of light, color, and even humor fills Northwind Art's Jeanette Best Gallery in the new round of Showcase 2025. Round 2 of this year-long exhibit features 14 artists working in a broad variety of mediums: assemblage, plein air painting, ceramics, mosaic, resin, linocut printmaking and beyond. Visiting the gallery is a way to get away from it all, and see something entirely different. The artists include Tabitha Blackburn, a painter in Quilcene who creates scenes from the wild West — with twists that might make viewers laugh out loud. Then there are painters Anne Pfeiffer, Roger Morris, David Van Galen, Jani Freimann, and Kathy Fridstein, mosaicist Shelley Jaye, pinhole photographer Jen Cohen, ceramicist Ariel Zimman, assemblage maker Peter Koronakos, color-field artist John Bradshaw, textile artist Kira Mardikes and jewelry maker Joanna Beachy. They hail from Port Townsend, Chimacum, Clallam County, Kitsap County and Seattle. A jury of local artists, Jaiden Dokken, Meg Kaczyk and Kim Kopp, selected the “Showcase 2025” participants.
