MUSIC
Live Music with Hot Damn Scandal and Dumpster Joe, bringing the soul, swagger, and stomp.
Hot Damn Scandal
Hot Damn Scandal finds its songs under park benches and in forgotten alleyways, on the corner of Tom Waits and Gershwin. The result? A genre-bending sound they call Cabaret Americana—a raucous blend of outlaw ballads, dirty jazz, string band funk, and theatrical chaos. Their performances are lyrical, wild, and endlessly danceable, inviting audiences into a world of cosmic mischief and gritty elegance.
Dumpster Joe
Portland’s Dumpster Joe & the Boys revive the spirit of the 1920s and ’30s with a toe-tapping mix of jazz, ragtime, and country blues, played on res-o-phonic guitar, cello, and an assortment of homemade instruments. Their vast repertoire of pre-war tunes—learned by obsessively collecting 78RPM records—comes to life in a joyful, down-home string-band style that’s as nostalgic as it is delightfully original.
*30 minutes before music starts, a cover charge (up to $5, excluding children) will be collected. All funds collected go to the music program.
